zone14 and Wiener Sport-Club deepen partnership

The Viennese sports tech company zone14 is becoming the official technology partner of the traditional club from Hernals. The long-term cooperation encompasses the senior team, the youth academy, and the women's team, and is designed to anchor professional video analysis and performance data even more firmly throughout the entire club.

VIENNA, AUSTRIA — 08.17.2026

The Vienna-based sports tech company zone14 and the Wiener Sport-Club (WSC) are opening another joint chapter. As part of the partnership, the Wiener Sport-Club is also relying on zone14's technology in the recently reopened stadium. In the future, this means all WSC teams—from the first team to the youth and women's teams—will benefit from professional insights through video analysis and performance data.

Beyond the technology, both partners share a similar understanding of how football should evolve. While the Wiener Sport-Club has stood for cosmopolitanism, tolerance, and social responsibility for decades, zone14 pursues the goal of making professional football technology accessible outside of professional football as well.

For the Wiener Sport-Club, the partnership is deliberately designed for the long term. Video analysis and performance data are to become an even greater part of athletic work in the future, supporting coaches and players in match preparation, post-match analysis, and individual development.

The Austrian Regional League East club, which has started the new season successfully with three wins from the first three games and sits proudly at the top of the table, gains access to automated video analysis, running data, heatmaps, and detailed insights into the game. Coaches can review specific match situations, analyze tactical sequences, and use relevant scenes for preparation. At the same time, players are given the opportunity to assess their own performance more objectively and track their development.

Philip Obermüller, team manager of Wiener Sport-Club:

„With zone14, we have found a long-term and forward-looking partner that enables us to operate at the highest level. zone14 offers our coaches and players the opportunity to objectively evaluate their performance and improve every single day. At the same time, the all-round support is of the highest standard, and the personal commitment of the entire zone14 team is outstanding. The fact that we are collaborating with a Vienna-based company supported by the Vienna Business Agency makes this a perfect partnership for us.“

For zone14 as well, the partnership goes beyond merely providing technology. The ongoing exchange with coaches and decision-makers, as well as joint development, have been an important part of the collaboration for years and will be intensified even further.

Furthermore, the partnership comes at a special time for the Wiener Sport-Club. Following the reopening of the renovated Sport-Club-Platz Stadium in April 2026, a new chapter begins for the club at its traditional home ground in Vienna's Hernals district.

Simon Schmiderer, co-founder and co-CEO of zone14:

„We are very pleased about the deepening of our cooperation with a traditional Austrian club. This trust is a strong confirmation of the work of our entire team and the great development of zone14. It is clear to see that ambitious clubs no longer just want to record games, but are relying on solutions that provide them with concrete insights to support the coaching staff and thus enable better sporting decisions.“

As part of the partnership, the women's team and youth teams of Wiener Sport-Club will also work with zone14 technology. This is intended to integrate video analysis and performance data into the development of young players and the athletic progress of all teams.

An initial special encounter is already approaching: On September 5 Wiener Sport-Club and SK Rapid face each other in the ÖFB Women's Cup – two teams that rely on zone14 in their athletic work.

At the same time, the collaboration builds upon zone14's commitment to greater visibility and professionalization in women's football. With the initiative „Focus: Women in Football“ and the event „Women in Football – The Talk“ the company is actively committed to the advancement of women's football.
