Veo Cam 2026: What It Costs, What It Can Do and Which Alternatives Exist

The demands on modern football camera systems are increasing – whether for match analyses, highlight videos or live streams. Two providers that have proven themselves particularly well in the amateur and youth sector are Veo and zone14.

With the Veo Cam 3 and the zone14 TWO, both manufacturers have developed their technology further – with a focus on better image quality, faster workflows and smart analysis functions.

In this article, we compare the current versions of both systems: what the Veo Cam really costs in 2026, what Veo Analytics 2 can do, which alternatives exist – and which system suits your club better: portable vs. permanently installed, single team vs. club solution.

So zone14 always comes with a modem, while Veo only has one in the 5G version. 5G instead of 4G makes little difference at a football pitch in practice: 4G is enough for uploads and livestreams.

How much does a Veo camera cost in 2026?

Veo sells the camera as a one-off purchase plus a subscription, without which the camera can’t be used. Prices according to Veo’s pricing page for Germany (as of 15 October 2026, billed yearly):

The realistic price in the first year

The Starter and Team plans cover a single team. For a club with several teams, only Veo’s Club plan is comparable – and even that is limited to 10 teams. Veo lists the tripod and bag as accessories, but they are needed all the same: a portable camera has to stand somewhere at every match and be carried to the pitch.

With the Veo Cam 3 5G, the Club plan, tripod and bag, a club pays around €3,040 in the first year and around €1,160 per year after that. Player stats with Veo Analytics 2 add around €680 per year, livestreaming with Veo Live around €120.

With zone14, the camera system is included: the CORE package costs €130 per month (€1,560 billed annually) – with unlimited teams and users and permanent installation. Automatic camera work: player tracking vs. ball tracking

Both cameras film without a camera operator: AI controls the frame automatically. The difference is what the AI follows.

Veo Cam 3: follows the ball

The Veo Cam 3’s AI follows the ball and the play. The result looks like a TV broadcast – good for highlights, but with limits:

• Training sessions with several balls can hardly be recorded, because the camera doesn’t know which ball to follow.
• For tactical analysis, players are often missing from the picture: anyone far from the ball isn’t visible.

zone14 TWO: follows the players

The zone14 TWO’s automatic camera work is based on player tracking. It keeps the teams in the picture – not just the ball:

• Training sessions with several balls can be recorded too.
• For tactical analysis, all players are in the picture: distances, lines, pressing and rest defence stay visible.
• You can choose between a mode for analysis that shows as many players as possible and a mode that looks more like a TV broadcast.

If you mainly want to record and share matches, the Veo Cam 3’s ball tracking is enough. For coaches focused on tactics and player development, the zone14 TWO is the better choice.

Player tracking & performance data: zone14 STATS vs. Veo Analytics 2

zone14 STATS

• Distance, sprints, high-intensity runs and speeds per player
• Heatmaps, compactness values and automated player reports
• No GPS needed – all values come from the video of the permanently installed camera
• zone14 has offered player stats from video since 2023 – around three years before Veo introduced individual player stats

Veo Analytics 2

• Individual player stats (distance, top speed, high-intensity runs, tackles, passes) – since August 2026 and only for recordings from then on

Both systems work without vests and measure similar values. The difference is accuracy: a permanently installed camera hangs in the same place at every match, at the same angle and without wind shaking a tripod. The picture is always calibrated the same way – the best basis for following players cleanly over 90 minutes and comparing values from match to match. zone14 LIVE

zone14 LIVE is not just a livestream for fans, but also a tool for the coaching staff:

• Livestream directly to YouTube or your own website, no app required – for example on the zone14 YouTube channel
• Live coaching view for coaches and staff in REPLAY, during the match
• Tag scenes live with the tagging board – the key scenes are ready by half-time
• Clips and tags are available right after the final whistle

Veo Live broadcasts the match. zone14 LIVE broadcasts it – and at the same time makes it the basis for the analysis at half-time and after the match.

Strengths and weaknesses of the Veo Cam 3

Strengths

• Portable: the camera can be taken to away games, tournaments and other sports.
• Subscription and add-ons can be chosen individually.
• With the 5G version, uploads and livestreams work without Wi-Fi at the pitch.

Weaknesses

• Before every match, camera, tripod and battery have to be brought to the pitch and set up.
• Every recording is made from a different position – which makes comparable data over a season harder.
• Often a single coach buys the camera; because the Starter and Team plans cover only one team, the rest of the club can hardly use it.
• Individual player stats have only been available since August 2026, and only with the Analytics 2 add-on.

Veo alternatives

How much does a Veo camera cost?

The Veo Cam 3 costs €1,299, the Veo Cam 3 5G €1,599 (as of October 2026). On top comes a subscription from €49 per month for one team; for several teams the Club plan at €97 per month is needed. With tripod and bag, a club pays around €3,040 in the first year.

Can you use the Veo Cam 3 without a subscription?

No. The camera is a one-off purchase, but recording and analysis only work with an active Veo subscription. With zone14, the camera is included in the subscription.

How many recording hours are included with Veo?

The Starter plan includes 10 recording hours per month, the Team plan 20 hours. The Club plan advertises unlimited hours; Veo’s own comparison table lists 200 hours per camera.

Is the Veo Cam 3 5G worth it?

The 5G version adds a mobile modem for uploads and livestreams without Wi-Fi and costs €300 more. At a football pitch, however, 5G makes little difference compared with 4G, which is enough for uploads and livestreams. The zone14 TWO already has a 4G modem built in.

What are the alternatives to Veo?
